Hugh leads Armstrong’s US business, based in New York, where he works across the private markets spectrum with a particular focus on credit, private equity and venture capital. He specialises in senior investment and capital formation hires at the VP level and above, partnering closely with clients on how to build and scale high-performing teams.
He has worked with a broad range of firms, from established global alternative asset managers to European platforms expanding into the US, as well as a number of high-quality spin-outs.
Hugh joined Armstrong in 2018 and relocated to the US in 2024 to lead the firm’s next phase of growth. Outside of work, he enjoys watching Bath Rugby and Arsenal FC, playing softball, and exploring New York’s restaurant scene.
